Shorts and Flips
In this episode of Firefighters in Fire Trucks getting Ice Cream we get to hang out with Sean Gray from Cobb County Fire while I am teaching out at the Metro Atlanta Firefighters Conference. We are driving a 1982 American La France that used to be one of the Maxi Pumpers for the FDNY and is now an engine used by the Terry Ferrels Fund. We have a great conversation about modern firefighting tactics, the current UL studies, getting fast water on the fire and saving victims. We also get to hear the scoop on the scooter incident at FDIC. This is a fun episode and I always love hanging out with Sean.
Scooter Flips
In part 2 of the Sean Gray episode of Firefighters in Fire Trucks getting Ice Cream we are just pulling up to Bruster's Ice Cream so that I can have my normal chocolate milkshake while Sean gets a Reese's Blast just so he can turn it upside down. We have a great conversation about his Attack from the Burned Side class as well as his book "The Evolving Fireground: Research Based Tactics" that he co-wrote with PJ Norwood. We also get a chance to discuss one of my new projects "The Firefighter Book Club" and how to write a Fire Service book.
